Bex Tang is an illustrator & artist based in London.
Born & raised in New Zealand with Malaysian Chinese heritage, her interests revolve around stories of identity, intersectionality and culture. Her work is colourful, eclectic and absurd, often bringing humour and playfulness to complex topics.
In completing a Masters in Illustration with Falmouth University, a particular interest in ethnographic research and anthropology began and continues to play an integral part of her artistic practice. Her debut series of works titled ‘Sik Banaan‘ expresses her experience as a woman of the South-East Asian diaspora.
Expressing ethnic stories, raising social awareness with empathy & contributing to the representation of minorities remains at the forefront of Bex’s practice.
